Clipsal C-Bus Control for your Commercial Project

"Will the last person to leave, please turn the lights off" just doesn't cut it in today's competitive business world. The rising cost of energy is impacting on today's business margins like never before. Minimising overheads through efficient use of lighting is now an important part of maximising profits in any business.

C-Bus can provide lighting efficiencies in any office. With light level sensors, the system can be designed to take advantage of natural light levels and utilise only the minimum necessary amount of lighting, saving energy and money. When the offices are vacated, C-Bus can automatically turn lights off at preset times that have been set to meet the needs of the staff in each working area.

Low traffic areas do not need to be permanently lit. Use C-Bus occupancy sensors to light up those areas only when needed. If a staff member is working late, C-Bus occupancy sensors can automatically override any preset program to provide safe pathway lighting. Is your office layout likely to change in the future? C-Bus offers you the flexibility to reprogram lighting groups to accommodate any future addition to the office space such as new office structures, partitions, and new open plan desk configurations.

Lighting Control Module

Clipsal Dali Gateway with Two Dali PSU's note the Weiland Connectors for 'Plug and Play' connectivity. These carry Live, Neutral, earth and the two Dali control cores. This unit can potentially control up to 128 fittings (based on one ballast per fitting)

The LCM's can be supplied with Dali, DSI, or Analogue controllers. They can also come with relay units and/or incandescent dimming units.

Version 4 includes a number of major features, including enhanced scheduling features, support for monitoring load run times, load power and energy consumed, support for fully customizable multilevel, password protected, access level control, support for sunrise and sunset times, support for daylight savings times, support for 128 bit encrypted secure Internet connectivity allowing control and monitoring via any web browser.

This software also includes a fully featured programmable logic engine.

The C-Bus USB Key works under Windows XP Home, XP Professional, Server 2003, Vista Ultimate, Vista Business and Vista Enterprise.

It is important to note that the C-Bus system is capable of running without a PC connected, as it utilizes distributed intelligence architecture and therefore needs no central processor, such as PC, to run. However, Clipsal C-Bus PC based software applications can provide additional features and interface solutions requested by C-Bus system users.

Clipsal DALI Gateway

Clipsal Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) Gateway provides an isolated two-way communications path between a C-BusTM network and two DALI networks, making it possible to use the C-Bus network to control and monitor DALI ballasts.

The DALI gateway constantly monitors both DALI networks and can detect and report faulty lamps in fluorescent ballasts or non-functional DALI ballasts.

DSI Gateway

Learn Enabled, DIN rail mounted DSI Gateway housed in a 12M wide module. Provides C-Bus control of electronic DSI digital ballast's. The unit controls up to 100 DSI ballast's per channel (8 channels per unit). These units draw 18mA from the C-Bus when mains is not connected, they do not source current to the network. The units feature software selectable Network Burden and C-Bus System Clock. A maximum of 100 units may be connected to any C-Bus Network.

Note these units must be used in conjunction with the appropriate third party electronic DSI

4 Channel Voltage Free Relay, DIN Rail Mounted

Learn Enabled, DIN rail mounted relay unit featuring 4 channels of voltage free relay switching. 8M modules wide. Rated at 10A incandescent or 10A fluorescent load per channel. Incorporates software selectable Network Burden and C-Bus System Clock.

A maximum of 100 units may be connected to any C-Bus Network. These units draw 18mA from C-Bus when mains is not connected. They do not source current to the network with mains connected. These are also available in 8 channel and 12 Channel, also blind/shutter control and changeover.

DIN Rail Dimmer

Learn Enabled, DIN rail mounted Dimmer housed in a 12M wide module. Features 8 Channels of 1A output, suitable for incandescent and low voltage lighting. The Dimmer features a 200mA Power Supply, software selectable Network Burden and C-Bus System Clock. These are available with outputs from 1A up to 20A per channel.

C-Bus Input Units

C-Bus input units are intelligent devices that allow C-Bus to respond to real world actions or events and send programmable messages to the C-Bus Network. An example of real world actions and events which can be interpreted by C-Bus input units are:

C-Bus is able to interpret these real world actions, and is programmed by the installer to cause a response (or series of responses) based on this action in the real world (via C-Bus Output Units). This real world C-Bus response could be, for example, to dim lights, switch air conditioning units, close blinds, switch on a TV, or a combination of the actions.

A wide range of C-Bus input units are available to suit specific application requirements. C-Bus input units that are seen by the user, such as wall mounted switches, touch screens and scene controllers, are available in various styles and colours to suit the interior decor.

Clipsal Saturn DLT and Metal Plate Switch along with a Black and White Touchscreen, any kind of input can be used with the use of an Auxiliary input module for standard switches or a General Input Unit.

The General Input Unit incorporates 4 input channels for measuring digital, 0-1V, 0-5V, 0-10V, 0-20V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA, 500 ohm, 1k ohm, 3k ohm and 10k ohm thermistor inputs. The unit triggers a C-Bus group address or broadcasts a message on the C-Bus Network in response.

It provides an interface between a C-Bus Network and 3rd party products such as light level, current, temperature, pressure, differential, flow rate, power, frequency & CO2 sensors, kWh meters and moisture probes.
