3E (UK) COMPLETES THE AYLESBURY COUNTY MUSEUM PROJECT

Published by 3E Team

The award winning County Museum in Aylesbury has recently refurbished two existing rooms to add to its learning zone facilities. The museum is located in the old part of Aylesbury, with parts of the building dating back to 1473. The museum itself is made up of several buildings including the Coach House, which houses the Roald Dahl collection. The new learning zones are located in the more recent Church House building which dates back to 1840, with the second room being added in 1907.

The concept behind the new lighting installation was to replace the existing fittings with a more subtle, unobtrusive lighting scheme that provided the flexibility of dimmable control. The up-lighting and down-lighting needed to be controlled independently, while incorporating a new emergency lighting system. Despite the building's age and irregular walls, the 3E lighting system has blended discreetly into the existing building while providing the required ambiance for the various activities that take place in the rooms, ranging from exhibitions to conferences and classes to private functions.

You will see some pictures of the project below.
