LIGHTING UPGRADE - GREAT LINFORD PRIMARY SCHOOL, MILTON KEYNES
Published by Rebecca Sturgess
3E recently upgraded the lighting at the Great Linford Primary school. The existing 154 fittings were replaced with 147 T5 luminaires. The lighting levels were increased while the energy consumed was reduced from 17.7 kW to 7.5 kW, a reduction of 58%. Future maintenance costs will be reduced further as the luminaires are supplied with a 3 year guarantee, and the T5 lamps are designed to last for over 10 years in a class room environment. Since the payback including the installation fell within the 5 year criteria, the project was financed with Salix funding.
